From BCT, we all learned that drinking water is incredibly important. Did you know that dehydration of just 2% of body weight can harm exercise performance? (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, 2018) While the amount of fluids required varies greatly among individuals, and consuming too much water is possible, a minimum of 64 ounces of water per day is a reasonable goal for most people. This week’s challenge is to consume at least 64 ounces of water every day (Monday-Saturday). Try using a refillable container to measure your water! This week’s bonus is for plain water, not sports drinks, juice, coffee, etc.
