FIT-P Tip of the Week!

SSG Charles Williams

Turn Your Cheat Day Around!!!!

When it comes to eating healthy most people have what I like to call a short-term mindset. What I mean is they will make a goal of eating healthy for a certain amount of time or a certain amount of weight loss. This is one of the biggest contributors to the common term Yo-Yo dieting. People will eat very strict until they lose 20lbs and once they meet their goal they will go back to the diet that made them gain the 20lbs in the first place.

When it comes to health and fitness you need to be in the mindset that this is a lifestyle and I am going to do this for the rest of my life. Once you are in this mindset you will be much more resilient during the difficult times especially when you fall off the wagon and yes we all fall off the wagon especially when it comes to eating healthy. Just remember the next time you have a bad day it takes roughly 3,500 calories to gain a pound of fat. You are not going to over eat this much in one day, so don’t let one bad day turn into a bad week turn into completely giving up on living a healthy lifestyle.
