Hunger vs. thirst
Our bodies do not always send a different message for hunger vs thirst. If you are trying to eat healthier, control portions, or even just eat in a more mindful manner; think about the possibility that you are simply thirsty versus hungry. Try drinking a glass of water before a meal. Obviously, this can help keep you hydrated. It can also help satiate you prior to eating a meal—this can help you eat more mindfully, eat more slowly, enjoy your food more, and possibly even control your portions and/or eat less.
