Benefits of the Burpee
SSG Williams
The Burpee and I have a love hate relationship. I love the Burpee because it almost hits every muscle group and it will spike your cardio pretty quickly. I hate it for all those same reasons. Every muscle in your body is hitting failure and your lungs are burning as if your at the end of the 2 mile APFT run. I’ve always had a mindset that if there is a movement I really don’t like doing then it’s probably good for me and I need to do it more.
Not only is the Burpee a great strength and cardio movement but it’s a fairly low skill movement and it can be done anywhere. If your ever short on time or traveling and do not have access to a gym the Burpee will bail you out everytime. If you are sitting there right now and unsure the Burpee can increase your fitness give this little workout a try.
